About Us
A youth-led initiative, rooted in community.
Practical skills become more powerful when they are connected to real opportunities.
It began with a student who refused to look away. Founded by Saranya Gupta, a Year 11 student at Arcadia School, Dubai, Jagriti by Sara is a youth-led community initiative built around one simple belief: practical skills become far more powerful when they are connected to real opportunities.
Determined to turn that belief into action, Saranya raised funds in India and channelled them into setting up a professionally equipped stitching facility — a place where women and girls in rural Bihar could learn a respected trade and step toward dignified, independent income. What began as one young person's conviction is today a working space with industrial machines, an arranged trainer, and the first cohort of participants.
Jagriti by Sara operates in association with KCS Foundation, India — an Indian non-profit founded in 2019, working towards the empowerment of women and girls and education for underserved students.
The goal is clear: equip economically underserved girls and women with practical industrial stitching skills, and connect that training to real, paid work — beginning with school-uniform production for local schools. Skills alone can change a life; skills linked to opportunity can quietly change a whole community.
