Jagriti by Sara is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including women and girls in rural Bihar, educators, school partners, donors, and members of the public with diverse abilities. We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing responsibility and a practical expression of the dignity and inclusion at the heart of our work. Our Commitment We aim to conform, where reasonably possible, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and they are widely respected as the international standard for digital inclusion. What We Are Doing - Using clear, plain language so that our mission, training opportunities, and school-partner information are easy to understand. - Designing pages that work with screen readers and other assistive technologies, including descriptive headings and meaningful link text. - Ensuring sufficient colour contrast between text and background across our site. - Providing text alternatives for images wherever they convey information. - Allowing all functionality to be used with a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse. - Avoiding content that flashes more than three times per second. - Making forms easy to complete with clearly labelled fields and helpful error messages. Known Limitations While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of our site may not yet meet every guideline: - Some older photographs and gallery images may lack complete alternative text while consent and captioning are being reviewed. - Some third-party content, such as embedded videos or external links, may be outside our direct control. - We are a small, student-led initiative with limited resources, so improvements are made incrementally alongside our training and production work.
