Frequently asked questions

Can our school order uniforms right now?+

We are developing our production capacity and welcome inquiries from schools. Submit the school inquiry form with your requirements, and our team reviews the specifications, discusses timelines, and confirms what we can responsibly deliver. We will not commit to an order we cannot fulfil.

What is Jagriti by Sara?+

Jagriti by Sara is a student-led community livelihood initiative connecting industrial stitching training to dignified income opportunities for women and girls in rural Bihar, in association with KCS Foundation, India.

What types of uniforms can you stitch?+

We are set up to stitch summer and winter school uniforms, including shirts, trousers, skirts, tunics, and related garments. The confirmed list of garment categories is shared during the inquiry process, and exact capability is agreed before any commitment.

What stage is the initiative at?+

A professionally equipped stitching facility with industrial machines has been established, and a trainer has been arranged. Structured practical training is underway, with production and paid work as the next stage.

Do we need to supply the fabric?+

Both options are possible. Some schools supply their own fabric or an approved sample design, while we source materials for others. Fabric, sizing, and sample requirements are discussed with you during the inquiry.

How can I support the work?+

Beyond donations, you can partner as a school, sponsor a training cohort, donate fabric or materials, volunteer professional expertise, or help connect us with schools and institutions. Visit our Support page for all the options.

How long does a uniform order take?+

Turnaround depends on quantity, garment types, fabric availability, and our training-production schedule. Once we review your requirements, we provide a realistic timeline and quotation. We prefer to set honest expectations rather than overpromise.

Where can I see your impact numbers?+

We publish impact metrics only once they are verified and approved. Until then, our Impact page shows our current stage and reporting framework rather than placeholder statistics.

Where is the stitching facility located?+

The facility is based in rural Bihar, India, and the initiative operates in association with KCS Foundation. Specific location and delivery coverage are confirmed during the inquiry process.

How does partnering support the women in the programme?+

Each partnership creates responsible production opportunities that connect the women's newly developed stitching skills to dignified income. A school's uniform order directly supports their transition from training to paid work.

Is Jagriti by Sara a registered organisation?+

Jagriti by Sara is a student-led community livelihood initiative operating in association with KCS Foundation, India — an Indian non-profit founded in 2019. We are transparent about what is established, underway, and planned.
